Nudix hydrolases are found in all classes of organism and hydrolyse a wide range of organic pyrophosphates, including nucleoside di- and triphosphates, di-nucleoside and diphospho-inositol polyphosphates, nucleotide sugars and RNA caps, with varying degrees of substrate specificity.

This entry represents cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor subunit 5, also known as the cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor 25 kDa subunit. These proteins are a component of the cleavage factor Im (CFIm) complex involved in pre-mRNA 3' end processing [PUBMED:9659921]. CFIm may also play a role in regulation of poly(A) site selection [PUBMED:20695905].
